Acid Recovery Products
Operating in series with a process filtration apparatus, an acid recovery system separates dissolved metal ions from the finishing solution and returns an acid-rich metal lean purified solution for reuse in the finishing process. Depending on process conditions, metals are removed from the acid solution with the loss of free acid limited from 5% to less than 15%.
Scanacon has been providing high efficiency acid retardation systems for the removal of dissolved metals from acid finishing processes for over 25 years. The Scanacon Acid Recovery (SAR) MiniFlex and Moduflex systems are unique in that their modular design allows for limitless expansion, flexibility and inherent redundancy – important considerations when choosing process equipment.
All SAR systems feature
- high operating efficiency for maximum metal removal with minimum acid loss
- compact modular design that allows for future expandability
- superior materials of construction featuring polypropylene (PP) or polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF)
- low maintenance requirements without specialty tooling or overhead cranes
SAR MiniFlex
The SAR MiniFlex systems are ideally suited towards small-scale acid finishers using single or mixed acid solutions with HF acid. Typical installations include recovery of mixed acids from cold rolled and finished wrought stainless steel products, recovery mixed acid milling from cast products and metal removal from acid cleaning and passivation tanks.
The SAR MiniFlex is available in four standard sizes with capacities ranging from 75L/hr to 200 L/hr.
SAR ModuFlex
The SAR ModuFlex is Scanacon's main acid recovery system suited towards mixed and single acid recovery from hot and cold rolled and finished stainless and titanium wrought products and large-scale acid milling and etching process of cast products. Acid recovery from single acid electrolytic processes is also possible.
Each individual SAR Module has a capacity of up to 500 L/hr. Installations may comprise a single SAR ModuFlex, or multiple modules operating in parallel for applications requiring greater than 500 L/hr to more than 10,000 L/hr of capacity.
