Analyzer Products
Rapid and accurate analysis of free acid and dissolved metals is key to gaining control over the finishing process and the first step in designing a managed process.
In 1982, Scanacon introduced a revolutionary analytical system capable of measuring the individual components of strong acid, hydrofluoric acid and dissolved metals in stainless steel pickling liquor. This instrument – the Scanacon Acid Analyzer Model 30 – permitted the user to obtain a very accurate analysis of the pickling bath quickly, and without any specialized chemical training. Eliminating the need for the traditional lengthy and specialized analysis methods, the SA30 moved the analysis of pickling solutions from the laboratory to the shop floor, and for the first time, allowed production staff to monitor and adjust the pickling process, virtually in real time.
Now, almost three decades later, Scanacon continues the tradition of rapid, accurate and user-friendly analysis of pickling and etching solutions with the Models AT75, SA70 and SA100.
All Scanacon analyzers feature:
- Robust, industrial design. All Scanacon analyzers are not fragile modified laboratory instruments. Scanacon analyzers were designed for use in a production environment, adjacent to the finishing line.
- User friendly interface, in multiple languages. The instrument was designed to be used by personnel with no speciality chemical or laboratory training.
- Rapid and accurate analysis of the acid solution. From sampling to reporting in as little as two minutes. The analyzer reports the concentration of a strong acid (HNO3, H2SO4, HCl) in conjunction with total dissolved metals (AT75), or the concentration of a strong acid, the weak acid HF, and total dissolved metals (AT75, SA70, SA100).
- Low chemical consumption. ISO certified calibration solutions are not consumed during the calibration procedure, and may be re-used over multiple shifts.
- Low maintenance retirements with a minimum of moving parts. The analyzers are designed to be user maintained and serviced, without specialized tools.
The AT75s “Acid Tester”
- Low cost, simple single acid and metal tester
- Manual operation.
- Reports the concentration of a single strong acid in conjunction with total dissolved metals.
The AT75, adds:
- Ability to report the concentration of the weak acid HF, in conjunction with a strong acid and dissolved metals. The SA70 “Acid Manager” Adds:
- Automatic density determination for semi-automatic operation
- Sophisticated software with SPC functionality. Export data feature - Able to track and automatically recommend the best course of action to manage to 21 individual acid processes.
The SA100 “Automatic Analyzer” adds:
- Fully automatic and unattended operation
- Fully automatic sampling, drawing acid solution directly from the process tanks
- Able to analyze and control 4 individual acid processes
