Scanacon launches ASRA particle filter for sludge removal

Scanacon, the world leading supplier of acid management systems for the metal finishing industry, launches the ASRA. The ASRA particle filter is a fully automatic filtration system that removes both heavy and fine sludge in the pickling process. Scanacon will offer the ASRA to stainless steel, carbon steel and specialty alloys producers.

During the pickling process of stainless steel, specialty alloys and carbon steel, the sludge which is formed will stay and accumulate in the process over time. Once the level of sludge exceeds a critical level, the pickling process must be stopped and process tanks, pipe works, etc must be cleaned out. This is a costly operation especially for large, continuous pickling processes. The ASRA effectively and continuously removes particles from the pickling bath, thereby reducing the accumulation of sludge and associated costly downtime.
