Poor Service Life and/or High Maintenance Costs

When you consider the environment acid management equipment operates in – processing highly corrosive solutions at elevated temperatures – equipment failure is inevitable.

During an unscheduled shutdown of the acid management system, suspended solids and dissolved metals accumulate in the process acid, reducing its effectiveness as a pickling or milling agent. Continuous bleeding of the acid to temporarily control metals and solids significantly increases acid consumption, the load at the wastewater treatment plant and further reduces the ROI of the installed management system.

How Scanacon can help

Scanacon’s equipment simply isn’t modified water-treatment equipment or fragile laboratory apparatus. Our systems have been specially designed from the ground up to ensure long operational lives with minimum maintenance requirements. Our components have been selected - and more importantly tested – for trouble free operation under real conditions in hundreds of installations worldwide.

Our extensive experience has taught us that while the use of superior materials of construction – using advanced thermoplastics and fabrication techniques for instance - are important to achieve maintenance free operation, when component failures do occur, ease of maintenance is critical to ensure the equipment can be brought back on-line quickly, and without the cost of speciality tooling and an extensive spare parts inventory.
