Process Filtration and Suspended Solids Removal

Removal of suspended solids via process filtration is an integral step in the recovery and re-use of acids, or as a stand-alone process for prolonging the useful life of and acid by continuously removing particulate matter.

Successfully removing suspended solids from pickling liquors is, frankly, a difficult proposition. Traditional filtration methods such as sand and media filters originally designed for low suspended solids streams simply cannot cope with waste acid liquors that contain a concentration of suspended solids several orders of magnitude higher than that of a typical wastewater.

Scanacon understands that each finishing process is unique in its filtration requirements. Preliminary picking processes require filtration to remove high to very high volumes of metal oxide scales removal whereas final pickling of cold rolled wrought products and titanium milling process are less demanding. Variations between production lines including differences in mechanical pre-treatment, mill forms and material type further complicate the situations, and is why a company with the experience of Scanacon should be your only choice as your filtration supplier.
